How the Brunch Cruise Works

Pick the brunch option, get to Pier 3, and dress casually.

  1. Choose the Brunch Option

One GetYourGuide listing sells both City Cruises' Premier Dinner and its Champagne Brunch. Pick the brunch sailing when you choose your date and time.

  2. Go to Pier 3

City Cruises boards at Hornblower Landing, Pier 3 on the Embarcadero, two piers north of the Ferry Building. City Cruises offers discounted paid parking at Pier 3, based on availability; Embarcadero BART station is about 10 minutes away.

  3. Dress Casually

The listing gives a casual dress code for the brunch cruise, unlike the semi-formal to formal dinner. Bring a layer for the deck: the bay can be windy even on a sunny morning.

  4. Brunch on the Bay

A buffet of breakfast dishes, lunch entrees and desserts, free-flowing mimosas and sparkling wine, and live music, while the boat passes the skyline, the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz.

The Guide

A San Francisco Brunch Cruise: What You Get and What It Costs

The champagne brunch, the cheaper buffet lunch, and how to book the right one.

San Francisco’s brunch cruise is City Cruises’ Champagne Brunch, sold on the same GetYourGuide listing as its Premier Dinner Cruise. It leaves Pier 3 on the Embarcadero for two to two and a half hours with a buffet of breakfast dishes, lunch entrees and desserts, free-flowing mimosas and sparkling wine, live music, and unlimited coffee, tea, iced tea and water. The listing’s from-price is $122 (checked October 2026); pick the brunch option in the calendar to see its price for your date.

Champagne brunch or buffet lunch?

City Cruises sells two daytime sailings from Pier 3, and the difference is what is in your glass:

Buffet Lunch Cruise

Prices and review counts as listed on GetYourGuide in October 2026, not a quote. Each listing covers a daytime and an evening sailing, and the from-price is the cheapest option and date.

The buffet lunch listing asks for upscale casual to business casual dress; the brunch listing says casual. On both, children under 3 go free if you select the free child ticket when you book, and the menu may change.

What you see from the boat

Both sailings follow the bay loop on the listing: from Pier 3 under the Bay Bridge, along the waterfront past the Exploratorium, Coit Tower and Fisherman’s Wharf, out to the Palace of Fine Arts, the Golden Gate Bridge and Fort Point, then round Alcatraz, Angel Island and Treasure Island and back past the Ferry Building and Oracle Park. In daylight you see the bridge’s colour and the Marin Headlands behind it, which the evening cruises lose to the dark in winter.

Not hungry? Drinks on the bay

If you would rather have a glass than a meal, Wine Tasting on the Bay sails from Pier 39 for 90 minutes on a 1958 wooden yacht, with one drink or three 2 oz wine tastings included and a full bar on board, from $85 (October 2026). The cruise route goes under the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz.

Is a brunch cruise worth it?

Yes, for a birthday, a bachelorette or a slow weekend morning: you get brunch, bottomless mimosas and the Golden Gate Bridge in daylight without leaving the table. If you want the bridge without the meal, the bay’s sightseeing and sunset cruises from Pier 39 cost less. For the evening version, see the dinner cruise.

"This was a 60th anniversary celebration with 14 adults and 1 9-year old. It was outstanding! Far better than we had any reason to believe it would be. We highly recommend it. Good food. Live music. Great vibes from everyone there. We are Bay Area natives (SF and Oakland) now living in Tucson. Along with good weather, the ride reminded us of how fortunate we are to have grown up here. Going under both bridges was great. Seeing both seals and dolphins was wonderful. Do it! You won’t regret it."

"Very good! The dinner (food) quality was much better than expected! Overall an excellent experience!"
